Player Safety First

Responsible Gambling

Gambling should be entertainment, never a financial strategy or a way to resolve stress. At pakgim, we are committed to promoting safe, informed and responsible play for every user — from Karachi to Peshawar and everywhere across Pakistan.

18+ Adults only, or the higher minimum required
by the operator/license jurisdiction.

Gambling Responsibly Starts Here

Pakgim is an English-language sports betting and casino information platform built for Pakistani users. We take our responsible gambling obligations seriously — not because we are required to, but because we genuinely believe that informed, in-control players have a better experience and better outcomes over the long term.

Whether you enjoy betting on Pakistan cricket, PSL T20 fixtures, ICC tournaments or live casino games, the same rules apply: set a budget, stick to it, and treat every session as entertainment with a fixed cost — not an investment with an expected return. The house edge means that, over time, the odds favour the operator. Understanding this is the first step toward responsible play.

This page covers the full responsible gambling toolkit available to pakgim users — including age restrictions, deposit and loss limits, session time controls, self-exclusion options and guidance on recognising when gambling has moved from entertainment into a problem that needs attention.

Pakistan Legal Context: Pakistan has significant gambling restrictions under the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977. Pakgim does not claim to be licensed, regulated or endorsed by the Government of Pakistan, PTA, the State Bank of Pakistan or any Pakistani authority. This is not legal advice. You are solely responsible for understanding the laws applicable to you before participating in any gambling activity.

Our Responsible Gambling Tools

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you can deposit into your account. Once set, limits take effect immediately and can only be increased after a cooling-off period — decreases apply instantly.

Loss Limits

Cap the amount you can lose in a defined period. When your net losses reach the threshold you set, the system prevents further wagering until the period resets. You stay in control of your downside.

Session Time Limits

Set a maximum session duration. When your time is up, you receive a clear on-screen notification. Extended sessions are one of the clearest predictors of at-risk gambling behaviour — this tool addresses that directly.

Cooling-Off Period

Request a short-term break from the Platform — typically 24 hours to 6 weeks — during which your account is suspended. All pending wagers are settled normally, but no new bets can be placed.

Self-Exclusion

Request a formal self-exclusion for a minimum of 6 months or permanently. Once active, your account is fully suspended and you cannot reverse the exclusion during the selected period. This is our strongest responsible gambling tool.

Reality Checks

Enable periodic pop-up notifications during gameplay that show your session duration, net profit or loss, and a prompt to continue or stop. Reality checks break the focus tunnel that can make it easy to lose track of time and money.

18+ Age Restriction Policy

The pakgim Platform is strictly for adults aged 18 years or older, or the higher minimum age required by the operator's license jurisdiction. This is an absolute and non-negotiable requirement. No exceptions are made, regardless of circumstances.

We enforce this requirement through a mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process that applies to all users before deposits, withdrawals or full Platform access are permitted. Acceptable identification documents include a valid CNIC (Computerised National Identity Card), a Pakistani passport or other government-issued photo ID.

If we suspect — at any stage — that an account is being operated by or on behalf of a minor, we will immediately suspend the account, void all pending activity and initiate a full investigation. Any funds deposited by a minor may be subject to review and withholding pending the outcome of that investigation.

For Parents and Guardians: If you share a device or payment account with younger family members in your household in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi or anywhere across Pakistan, ensure that your pakgim account credentials are kept private, your device is password-protected, and that children cannot access your account. The presence of an age restriction does not make gambling lawful in Pakistan for any individual.

We also strongly recommend enabling parental control software on any shared devices. Keeping your account login details confidential is both a personal security measure and an important step in protecting younger household members.

Deposit, Loss and Wager Limits Explained

Financial limits are the single most effective practical tool for keeping gambling within bounds. Setting limits before you start a session is far more effective than trying to stop yourself mid-session, when emotions and adrenaline can override rational decision-making. Think of it the same way you would budget for a day out watching Pakistan cricket at the Gaddafi Stadium — you decide in advance what you are willing to spend, and you stick to it.

📅 Daily Limit
24-Hour Deposit Cap

Controls the maximum you can deposit within any rolling 24-hour window. Good for users who play frequently and want fine-grained control.

📆 Weekly Limit
7-Day Rolling Cap

Sets a broader weekly ceiling. Useful for PSL match weeks when you might place multiple bets across several fixtures.

🗓️ Monthly Limit
Calendar Month Cap

The most conservative option — ideal for users who want to set a firm monthly entertainment budget in PKR and ensure they cannot exceed it.

📉 Loss Limit
Net Loss Threshold

Triggers a session block when cumulative net losses reach your chosen amount. Directly addresses the dangerous impulse to chase losses.

🎯 Wager Limit
Per-Bet Maximum

Caps the maximum stake on a single wager. Prevents large impulsive bets that can deplete a session budget in a single click.

⏱️ Time Limit
Session Duration Cap

Ends your session automatically after a chosen duration. Particularly important for live casino users where sessions can run much longer than intended.

How to Set Limits: All limits are accessible through your Account Settings panel. Limit reductions take effect immediately. Limit increases require a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period before they activate — this delay is intentional and cannot be bypassed. Contact [email protected] (plain text) if you need assistance locating these settings.

Most Important Tool

Self-Exclusion — When You Need to Stop

If gambling has stopped being fun and started causing stress, financial strain or relationship problems, self-exclusion is the most powerful step you can take. It is not a sign of weakness — it is a responsible, courageous decision.

Self-exclusion on pakgim suspends your account for a minimum of 6 months. Once activated, you cannot reverse the exclusion during the chosen period, regardless of how you feel later. This protection is by design.

  • Log in to your pakgim account and navigate to Account Settings.
  • Locate the "Responsible Gambling" or "Safe Play" section within settings.
  • Select "Self-Exclusion" and choose your desired duration — minimum 6 months, or permanent.
  • Confirm your decision. The exclusion activates immediately and a confirmation is sent to your registered email address.
  • During the exclusion period, contact [email protected] (plain text) if you experience any technical difficulties with the restriction.

Important: After choosing self-exclusion, avoid creating new accounts to circumvent the restriction. This defeats the purpose entirely and makes it much harder to regain control. If you need to talk to someone immediately, please reach out to a qualified counselling or support service in your area.

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

Problem gambling develops gradually. Many users do not recognise it in themselves until significant harm has already occurred. The following warning signs — whether you notice them in yourself or in someone close to you — warrant serious attention. The earlier these signs are recognised, the easier it is to address them.

1

Chasing losses: Betting more than planned in an attempt to recover money lost in a previous session, particularly with larger and riskier wagers in quick succession.

2

Gambling with money you cannot afford to lose: Using funds earmarked for rent, groceries, school fees, family obligations or other essential expenses in Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad or anywhere else in Pakistan.

3

Lying or concealment: Hiding your gambling activity, amounts spent or losses from family members, friends or colleagues — or feeling shame or anxiety about disclosing it.

4

Inability to stop: Trying to reduce or quit gambling and finding yourself unable to do so, even after making a decision to stop or after suffering significant losses.

5

Gambling affecting mood: Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when not gambling, or experiencing mood swings tied directly to wins and losses.

6

Increasing stakes over time: Needing to bet progressively larger amounts — higher PKR stakes or more matches — to experience the same level of excitement or engagement.

7

Neglecting responsibilities: Missing work, family commitments, prayers, study obligations or social events because of time spent gambling or thinking about gambling.

8

Borrowing to gamble: Taking loans, using credit cards, or borrowing from family or friends specifically to fund gambling activity.

If you recognise yourself in any of the above: Please use pakgim's self-exclusion tool immediately and reach out for professional support. Acknowledging the problem is the hardest and most important step. You do not have to manage this alone.

Quick Self-Assessment

Ask yourself these questions honestly. If you answer "yes" to two or more, it may be time to use the support tools available or seek professional guidance.

Have you ever spent more time or money gambling than you originally intended to?

Have you gambled with money that was needed for essential household expenses?

Have you felt the need to keep your gambling habits secret from people close to you?

Have you tried to win back money you have lost by placing further bets?

Have you borrowed money or sold personal belongings to finance gambling?

Has gambling caused arguments, stress or financial problems at home or with colleagues?

This self-assessment is for personal reflection only. It is not a clinical diagnostic tool. If you are concerned about your gambling, please use the tools on this page or seek professional support.

Understanding Each Safe Play Option

💰
Deposit Limits

Set a maximum funding amount per day, week or month. Your balance can still be used after the limit is hit — you simply cannot add more funds. The limit resets automatically at the end of each period. Increases require a 24-hour wait.

📊
Loss Limits

A loss limit triggers a session pause when your net losses (withdrawals minus deposits in the period) reach your chosen threshold. It does not affect withdrawals. Useful if you are prone to extended losing streaks without stopping naturally.

⏰
Session Time Controls

A session notification alerts you when your pre-set time is up. You still have the choice to continue, but the prompt breaks any unintentional flow state and forces a deliberate decision to stay or stop.

❄️
Cooling-Off / Temporary Break

A short-term account suspension of 24 hours to 6 weeks. All existing open bets settle normally. Your account and balance are preserved but inaccessible for new wagers during the period. Contact support to activate.

Support Resources

If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling, please reach out for professional support. Responsible gambling organisations offer confidential, non-judgmental assistance. The following types of resources exist — consult the relevant service directly for availability and coverage in your area:

  • Gambling therapy and counselling services — professional therapists who specialise in behavioural addictions, including problem gambling, are available in major Pakistani cities including Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Speak to a general practitioner for a referral.
  • National and international helplines — several international responsible gambling organisations operate English-language helplines and online chat support available to users globally. GamCare (gamcare.org.uk) and Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org) are internationally recognised bodies — visit their websites directly for availability information.
  • Mental health support — problem gambling often co-occurs with anxiety and depression. Mental health professionals at hospitals and clinics across Pakistan can provide integrated support. Umang Pakistan and similar local mental health organisations may be able to assist.
  • Family support — family members of problem gamblers can seek support from Gam-Anon, an international support network for people affected by someone else's gambling behaviour.
